The Frederick Research Center, in collaboration with the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) and Electi Consulting Ltd, is progressing in the development of an online platform for the management of green energy use in ports, within the framework of a funded national P2P-Ironing Research Project.
Frederick Research Center
PA1-FRC: Frederick Research Center is a leading research non-profit organization in Cyprus. It was established in 1997 in order to create a solid foundation for the development of scientific research activities of Cypriot and foreign scientists. PA1-FRC engages highly qualified academic/research staff with long experience in implementing independent and high caliber research and with rich publications record in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Numerous R&D projects (~ 80 externally funded national and EU projects) have been carried out through PA1-FRC and part of their results has been presented in international scientific conferences, contributing to their dissemination and technology transfer. Furthermore, PA1-FRC staff has developed closed collaboration with several public authorities, enterprises, non-profit organizations and universities in Cyprus and abroad.

Electi Consulting Limited is a privately owned Technology Consulting SME established in Cyprus in 2017, providing tech consulting in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cryptography and Blockchain. Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA)
The Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) was established by Law in 2003 in accordance with European Union Directives. CERA is an independent authority governed by public law and its main purpose is to regulate and monitor the internal electricity and natural gas markets. In addition, CERA aims to ensure a competitive, secure and environmentally sustainable energy market with its main concern being to protect the rights of the consumers. At the same time, CERA is responsible for advising the Minister for Energy, Commerce and Industry on all issues related to the energy market. It’s responsibilities amongst others include; • ensuring genuine competition in the Electricity Market, • avoiding adverse discrimination and ultimately aiming at price reductions, • protecting the interests of the consumers, • promoting the development of an economically viable and efficient electricity market. • Ensuring adequacy in electricity supply, • Regulating tariffs, charges their licences, • Ensuring the implementation of EU regulation, promoting Renewable Energy Sources (RES).
