P2P-Ironing Final Dissemination Event

On Thursday, 17 April 2026, the final dissemination event of the P2P-Ironing research project was successfully held at Frederick University in Limassol, in the presence of stakeholders from academia, research institutions, and the energy sector.

The event marked the completion of the project and the presentation of its main outcomes, developed under the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan “Cyprus_tomorrow”, with funding from the EU – Next Generation EU. For the successful implementation of the project, Electi Consulting Ltd acted as coordinator, in collaboration with Frederick Research Center and the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority.

The focus of the event was the presentation of the developed platform and its contribution to advancing sustainable energy solutions in the field of cold ironing, supporting the electrification of port operations and the reduction of emissions from ships at berth.

During the event, the project partners presented the key results of the platform development and validation activities, highlighting:

  • The design and implementation of an integrated digital platform supporting cold ironing energy management and decision-making processes.
  • The use of data-driven approaches to support energy optimization and efficient load management in port environments.
  • The assessment of system performance based on pilot scenarios and real-world operational assumptions, demonstrating its applicability in supporting sustainable port infrastructure.
  • The benefits of digitalization in enhancing coordination between energy stakeholders, port operators, and regulatory authorities.

Finally, the evaluation of the developed platform was presented, showing positive outcomes in terms of system usability, operational efficiency, and its potential contribution to supporting greener maritime operations.

The results demonstrated that the proposed solution can support more efficient and sustainable energy use in port environments, while ensuring alignment with relevant regulatory frameworks and energy transition objectives.
