Co-organized by the Limassol Municipality and Frederick University’s Department of Maritime Transport and Commerce, the Blue Limassol Forum 2026 served as a critical platform for dialogue on coastal sustainability and marine environmental protection. This year’s theme focused on moving from policy declarations to actionable, integrated coastal governance models, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers. Crucially, the forum’s agenda directly intersected with the P2P-Ironing project’s objectives, featuring a dedicated presentation on the progress of introducing on-shore power supply (cold-ironing) at the Port of Limassol. Dr. Marios Lestas attended the event, utilizing the gathering to actively network with key maritime and grid stakeholders. Throughout the forum, he engaged in targeted discussions, exchanging valuable opinions and ideas regarding the P2P-Ironing platform and demonstrating how peer-to-peer transactive energy concepts can practically support Limassol’s broader transition toward sustainable port operations.
